*W (25-09-2015, 6:30pm): Expectation of heavy traffic on a Friday evening failed. Please read below for more details on this issue.
Akshay and I boarded the Uber cab to Majestic and picked up Garima on the way. The KSRTC Sleeper bus to Nittur (near Kollur) was at 9:30pm, KSRTC Bus stand Terminal2. We reached the Terminal at 7:45pm (about 2 hrs early!!!)  and had decent Dinner at Swathi delux restaurant. Sundeep, Shiva and Jayadev too joined us for dinner. Sudha, Pallavi, Sandhyah, Saranya, Jasmine, SRK, Gyana, Piyush and Pranay arrived after we had finished our dinner.

*N (9:30pm): KSRTC Sleeper Bus to Nittur arrived.
The bus only had about 5-6 other people and within no time we left Bangalore. Some of us started playing cards and the rest chatted for an hour. Then slept @11pm.

*N (2:00am): Bus reached Birur Bus stop.
The wind was cold and Shiva was snoring bold.

*N (4:00am): Bus reached shivamogga Bus station.

*N (6:30am): Bus crossed Nagara

*N (7:15am): Reached Nittur

We were welcomed by Saranya’s Friend who was waiting on the road. But sadly she couldn’t recognize him and ran away from him. As there were no Jeeps available, we decided to walk 2.5kms to the stay.

*N (8:00am): Destination (Kalyani Nisarga Dhama) arrived.
We were immediately attended by 2 cute puppies, who cured our travel hangover immediately by letting us play with them. Freshened up and waited for everyone to arrive for Breakfast.

*N (9:30am): Breakfast served
The breakfast contained Upma and Kadubu with chutney.

*E (10:00am): No Jeep found, please contact the owner again
All the jeeps were busy and we couldn’t get one in time. When we learnt that the jeep would arrive after an hour from now, we decided to walk 2kms to the Bridge.

*N (10:36am): The Bridge!!

We were all amazed to see the narrow and long suspension bridge, which stretched between the two banks of river sharavathi. Skipped some stones on the water.

*N (11:00am): Jeep has arrived.
There was only one Jeep available and had to make two trips to Hidlumane Falls. Since Jaydev already went inside the jeep, I decided to stay back. As we were the only two who knew proper Kannada. (Sudha, What you speak is not proper Kannada :P ) The Lucky ones were Akshay, Gyana, Jayadev, Piyush, Pranay, Sandhyah, Saranya and SRK. (AKA Team Lost & Found)

*N (11:30am): Wooden made See-Saw available to play.

Rest of us (Garima, Jasmine, Pallavi, Shiva, Sundeep, Sudha and Myself. AKA Adventure Consultants) had to wait for an hour, till the jeep returned to pick us up. So we played on the see-saw. This was one unique contraption, which not only went Up and Down but it rotated in circle too.

*N (12:00pm): Jeep has again arrived.
It was a bumpy journey to the waterfall.

*N (1:00pm): [Base camp1] Hiddlumane Waterfall has arrived

The pathway through the paddy fields were mesmerizing. The water from the falls was used to irrigate the fields. When we reached a smaller waterfall we couldn’t find the Lost & Found team. Expected them to have trekked to the Hiddlumane Falls and waiting for us. Got this confirmed from other trekkers.

*E (1:30pm): Error 404: ‘Lost & Found team’ not found

The view of the waterfall was spectacular. Played there for a while. With no sights of the other team we decided to continue upwards, assuming the experienced Pranay (Mahmohan Ji) to have lead the team from the front.

*N (2:10pm): Open Plains has arrived.

After 30+ mins of rigorous 70 degree inclination climbing, we reached the open grassy plain. Astonishingly there was not even a single leech in sight.

 *N (3:00pm): [Base camp2] 50% of the trek complete.

The weather was pleasant and scenery was beautiful. We ate some chocolates, snacks and lied down for a while.

*F (3:30pm): The Call!!  Error 808: ‘Lost & Found team’ is Lost
We were finally able to contact the other team. We all thought they would have reached the summit and are waiting for us. But to our astonishment they had lost their way and had gone back to the place where the Jeep had dropped us. We had to call the jeep owner to ferry a ride to the Peak top, for the stranded trekkers.

*N (4:00pm): 70% of the trek complete. Jeep Road has arrived.

Plain roads finally, breathed a sigh of relief. The clouds had opened up to expose the blue sky.

*N (4:30pm): [Base camp3] 85% of the trek complete. Jeep point has arrived.
Received blessing from Moola Mookambika devi. Drank lime soda and had the best food of my life. Sudha’s spicy chutney with bread.

*N (5:05pm): To the summit. (Pallavi no, not 11ax summit, its Kodacchadri summit.)
Started the final (1.5kms) leg of our Journey. All of a sudden the skies were covered in mist.

*N (5:50pm): Tadaaa!! Thank you for choosing ‘Adventure Consultants’, your destination has arrived.

After almost 5hrs of tekking through dense forest and wet grasslands we finally made it. We couldn’t see the Sunset as the Sun was very shy that day and hidden behind thick blanket of clouds.

*W (6:40pm): Light showers expected. Take cover.
Walked back to the Jeep point, just in time before the showers started.

*W (6:45pm): Weather forcast: Light drizzle with one hell of a bumpy ride expected
After 5mins of drive, we found the ‘Lost & Found’ team. The windshield wipers of our jeep were broken, so our driver had to put his head out and drive. Not even Kingda Ka (World’s tallest steel roller coasters) could match the experience we had. The Jeep swayed in all possible directions. Everyone except Sudha was scared. Our team started to sing bhajans, pray to the god etc.

*N (7:45pm): Base camp.
Arrived at base camp. Freshened ourselves. Had mangalore bonda for snacks.

*N (8:45pm): Dinner is served.
Chapath, Bindi palya, rice, sambar, rasam, curds and sandige (rice papad)

*N (10:56pm): Campfire ignited.

Sat around the camp fire, discussing about the Real and Fake adventures, ghosts etc.

*N (12:30am): Time to sleep.
            Finally, a good night sleep.

*N (6:00am): Sunrise.

To the bridge again. The walk was very pleasant.

*N (8:30am): Breakfast served
            Puliogare, kadubu oggaranne and avalakki.

*N (9:30am): Good bye to the beautiful stay,

Manjanna offered us a free drop to the bus stop in his omni vehicle.

*N (10:30am): To Shivamogga with Bhagaya Lakshmi travels.
3 hour bus ride to shimogga.

*W (2:00pm): Set up time violation for Volvo bus.
The bus finally arrived at 2:00 pm.

*W (8:30pm) Heavy rains, traffic expected.
One hell of a journey it was, to enter Bangalore. Took a bus to Marathalli and then to Office. Kept the chocolates and other eatables on my desk and drove home.

*N (11:15pm) Home sweet Home.

Some memorable moments

Sudha Falls
Just before we saw the famous hiddlumane falls, Sudha fell off the wildly swinging sew saw. Thanks to jasmine :P. Thanks god it was a mild one and no one got hurt.

Moderate to difficult
The trek was moderate for regular trekkers, but very difficult for first time trekkers. Hats off to first time trekkers Pallavi, Garima and Sudha who climbed till the summit without any issues.

Fake story
When we got a call from the other team that they got lost and went to base1 camp, we felt bad. So we decide to create a fake story just to make them feel good. The story goes like this:
The forests were leech infested and bit everyone. Got attacked by bees. Spotted a tiger in the mist, running towards us and we got scattered in all directions. (Later found out that it was a dog), the possessed kid kept crying for candies all through the trek and got lost. A thunderous storm approached and we had to take cover in caves. Ran out of water supply etc.
But when we met the other team they started boasting of their experiences, telling that they had maximum adventure than us. We were all shocked for a moment and couldn’t respond. :D

Lost & Found
Finally Manmohan broke his silence and ordered the team to continue trekking, as he has served as PM a term before (i.e. he had trekked before). An hour into the trek they lost their way and got attacked by the natures blood suckers 'The Leeches'. With no sights of Base Camp2 they decided to slide back to the Base Camp1.

Sonia's Property Will
After getting lost, sonia gave up on her life. She was worried about her illegal property, that she had piled these years. All the chocolates she could have eaten!! When she tried to conquer the patch of land, the nature defended itself with the power of "Leeches".

Ghost Story
When Sundeep narrated his Infosys ghost story @midnight, everyone except Sudha was scared :P. It was related to someone who used to comb her hairs regularly. Pallavi was terrified and threw a bottle at Sundeep, to make him stop. Then everyone asked her what will she do if the other girls suddenly wake up in the night and started combing their hairs!!!

Possessed Kid
We noticed someone putting off the camp fire at the distance. We thought it to be Ramesh, the care taker. But when Sundeep flashed his torch at that directions, we were surprised to see Jasmine there. She had bright red eyes and had moved from the main group without anyone’s notice.

Hitler’s Umbrella and Tooth brush
Jayadev, the boy from hubbali was fond of stealing stuff from hitler. First was caught red handed stealing hitler’s umbrella and next when hitler woke up to brush his teeth on a Monday morning, his tooth brush was missing.

0 leech bites
Astonishingly the adventure consultants team had 0 leech bites. While on my first Kodacchadri trek had 10+

Snake
Our fellow trekkers spotted a snake swimming below rocks near Hiddlumane falls. But due to my bad luck couldn’t spot it L

The friendly feline

During out afternoon walk to the bridge, a small cat followed us. It stopped when we stopped and swiftly moved when we moved. To walk beside this amazing feline was cheerful.

Call and click

My technique of calling the name of the subject and immediately clicking their photos as soon as they turn towards me worked very well. Garima was the one who always fell for this trick. :P

Sliding technique
The very famous technique to trek down, wearing a jeans pant was invented and patented by Saranya.

SRK pose
Gyana thought us all how to pose like a real SRK.

Motivation
To keep the group going, i always lied to our team about the distance remaining to the top. This made them not to give up and kept climbing. On the last leg, I even motivated pallavi by showing old grannies who were trekking down. "When they can, why cant you :P"
